We're Building the Future of How We Support Families in Need
Every child deserves a safe place to turn during a family crisis. For more than 10 years, Jeremiah’s Place has been there for children and families in need, but our current space limits how many people we can serve. On most days, we're at capacity, and each month dozens of children are unable to access our services.
Our future headquarters in Wilkinsburg is designed to meet this growing need. With dedicated spaces for emergency childcare, overnight care, meals, play, and developmentally enriching experiences, we'll be able to support more children and families than ever before.
This expansion will help us dramatically reduce our waitlist and ensure that families facing difficult moments can find the care and support they deserve.
More Space to Support Our Suite of Family Support Programs
The expanded facility will also provide greater space for Jeremiah’s Place’s growing suite of family support programs, including:
- The JereCare Free Closet and Strong Moms Store provide essential items, including toiletries, toys, and clothing, to community members in need.
- The Strong Families Team connects families with essential resources and referrals to partner agencies.
- The JereCare Family Program offers parent and caregiver support groups, family dinners, and an annual family resource fair.
- A book vending machine in partnership with the Allegheny County Library Association provides free board books and picture books to children who visit.
- The Digital Connectivity Program provides community members with free access to on-site laptops to support employment, education, and healthcare needs.
