Jeremiah's Place Board Member Headshot: John Seltzer

John has been a leader in the financial services and employee benefits industry for over 35 years. Never one to rest on past accomplishments, he constantly studies the industry, both locally and nationally, to keep abreast of new ideas and how they apply to his clients. Always cautious in his approach, John’s ideas have helped clients develop robust benefits programs to attract, retain and reward the best talent for their companies while always keeping a watchful eye on costs. John strives to understand his client’s businesses and helps them design benefit programs that will strategically help them accomplish their goals.

John established the employee benefits practice of Brand Burstin & Runnette in 1987. In 2011, he was joined by his son, and they established J. Seltzer Associates. J. Seltzer Associates was acquired by Engle-Hambright & Davies, Inc. in 2019.  Today John is looking for his next great adventure.

John has been active in the Pittsburgh community serving on various boards, including the Mt. Lebanon School Board. He was a founding member of the Mt. Lebanon Foundation for Education and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and Jeremiah’s Place.
