Therapeutic Childcare Overnight Team Member (Full-time, Weekend Only)

Overnight Therapeutic Childcare Weekend team members work Friday through Sunday from 7 pm to 7 am. Team members remain awake throughout the night to provide a safe and developmentally appropriate therapeutic environment to minimize the adverse effects of stressful situations or traumatic experiences of children in crisis. They are responsible for managing the care provided to children visiting our short-term emergency childcare center. Children visiting Jeremiah’s Place may have complex backgrounds and experiences, so staff need to understand the effects of trauma on child development. Overnight Therapeutic Childcare team members provide constant support and comfort for children staying overnight, including hourly room checks to ensure safe sleep standards. Additionally, they play a significant role in ensuring a safe and clean environment for children utilizing our crisis nursery.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry children
• Physical stamina to keep up with active children
• Bending, kneeling, and squatting to interact with children at their level
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to stay awake for the entirety of the shift

Qualifications and Experience:

Required:

• 1 year of Childcare or related experience preferred
• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred:

• Pediatric CPR and 1st Aid Certification
• Experience caring for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Experience with Trauma Informed Care approaches

Benefits & Pay:

• Pay Rate: $16/hour (Increase to $17/hour after 6 months of employment)
