Effective July 21st through August 4th, 2020 Jeremiah's Place will be closed.
Please continue reading for further details.
Out of an abundance of caution due to having a child admitted to our center after a staff member from their primary childcare center tested positive, Jeremiah’s Place will be closed for two weeks (July 21, 2020 - August 4, 2020). There have not been any positive COVID-19 tests among Jeremiah’s Place staff or children, but there has been possible exposure from this incident. We are taking these precautions because of the uncertainty of this possible exposure.
We pride ourselves on being a safe option for families during critical times in their lives when they need additional support. We want to ensure that our staff, children, and families have the confidence in our policies and procedures especially during these uncertain times due to COVID-19.
Jeremiah’s Place has followed the COVID-19 guidelines and recommendations from the CDC, the Pennsylvania Health Department, and the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning, and have instituted a number of our own protocols to help mitigate the risk of exposure at our center, including: staff and children wearing face coverings, increased hand washing, a COVID-19 screening at every admission, lowered census of children, staggered admission and discharge times, and limiting visitors to the center.
Jeremiah’s Place apologizes for the inconvenience this decision may cause for our families, but the safety of our center is vital to properly caring for your little ones. If you had a scheduled intake, update or admission, our staff will be in touch to reschedule your appointments upon reopening.
As a reminder, the policies and protocols you must adhere to in order to receive care at Jeremiah’s Place are listed below:
Please remember, we cannot admit children:
- Having a temperature above 100.4 deg. F
- Exhibiting flu-like symptoms, as described by the CDC
- Having a household member who has tested positive for COVID-19 or who has been exposed to COVID-19
- Having travelled outside of Western PA in the last two weeks
- Having a primary childcare is currently closed because of COVID-19 exposure or a positive test
Thank you for your ongoing support!
Be well,
