“Doing what’s best for children, every day” was Laurie’s mantra as an educator and school leader. After almost four decades of service in schools, her recent retirement has not kept her from finding other ways to support children in the greater Pittsburgh area.

After retirement, Laurie started her own consulting firm, SproutEDU. In this role, she has supported writing online math courses, provided professional development in AI, and worked with science teachers to investigate recently released science e standards. She also supervises student teachers and teaches in the online mater’s program at Point Park University.

Laurie holds a BS in Elementary Education, and M.Ed in Elementary Mathematics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an Ed.D. from Point Park University. Her work experience started at Winchester Thurston School and she recently retired from the Hampton Township School District.

Laurie lives with her husband, Tim, their two cats and golden retriever in Highland Park. When not consulting, she relaxes at their city garden plot, reads and crochets. On Sunday’s she can be found in the choir stalls at Calvary Episcopal Church in Shadyside.
