Early Learning Collaborative

A free program to combat learning loss caused by pandemic-related isolation

What Is The Early Learning Collaborative?

The Early Learning Collaborative (ELC) was created in response to the learning gaps we observed in young children during and following the pandemic. Many children experienced social isolation and disruptions to early education during critical developmental years. In response, Jeremiah’s Place launched a pilot initiative to provide intentional, high-quality early learning support for children in our care. ELC has since grown into an ongoing, integrated part of our services.

Today, the Early Learning Collaborative provides structured, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that promote school readiness, social-emotional growth, and confidence. Through engaging activities in literacy, math, science, art, and hands-on exploration, children build foundational skills in a nurturing, trauma-informed environment.

How Does The Early Learning Collaborative Work?

The Early Learning Collaborative is designed for children ages 3-5. The program is free, and all supplies are provided at no charge.

For those participating with Jeremiah's Place, students will:

  • Visit our center 1 day per week for a 2-hour learning session
    • Mondays: 5pm-7pm
    • Tuesdays: 5pm-7pm
    • Wednesdays: 5pm-7pm
  • Engage with Khan Academy Kids* on a tablet provided by Jeremiah's Place for 15 minutes per day, 4 days per week

*Khan Academy Kids is a learning software that provides fun and engaging lessons in reading, math, and science that adapt to each learner.
