Job Description:
Position Summary
Jeremiah’s Place Media Coordinator Intern position is designed to coordinate the organization’s media efforts and engagement, from social media posting, newsletter writing, to program media needs. This role is intended to build Jeremiah’s Place (JP) media infrastructure, create predictability in media scheduling and capturing, and document JP’s story and compelling and engaging organizational impact. This role will help expand its media footprint and reach through videography, photography, and written mechanisms. A secondary function of this role is to support the programmatic and organization-specific media needs on and off-site and to archive and organize JP’s historical media files for accessibility and ease of use.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
JP’s Media Coordinator Intern engages in photography, videography, social media management, newsletter development, and other media support tasks. The tasks include graphic design, media assessment, archiving, and organizing. The responsibilities are more clearly defined below:
Photography and Videography
- Capture photos and video at JP-specific programs, outings, and special events
- Utilize photos and footage for social media postings and to create documentary-like videos
- Organize and arrange video or in-person interviews with staff and stakeholders to promote programs and special events
- Select photography and video footage for promotional materials or grant support
Social Media
- Create and manage social media content schedule on a weekly and monthly basis
- Compose social media captions and post content on various social media channels daily
- Engage and interact with stakeholders and viewers on social media
Composition
- Collect, write, and edit stories for the monthly donor and client newsletters
- Support photo selection process for newsletter images
- Create a content library
Graphic Design
- Assist with JP marketing, branding, and promotional materials for organizational outreach
- Maintain regular updates on in-house materials and digital media (i.e. website, letterhead, etc.)
Media Cataloguing, Organizing, and Archiving
- Organize all of JP’s digital assets using a standard naming convention
- Archive and digitize program and event materials
Other Duties as Assigned
Education / Experience
- High School Diploma Required; Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program.
