Jeremiah’s Place is pleased to announce that we are now participating in the Digital Connectivity Technology Program, expanding access to computers and digital tools for families and community members. Through this program, community members can schedule time to use on-site laptops free of charge to support employment, education, and healthcare needs.
What’s Available
Community members can use this link to schedule a day and time to visit Jeremiah’s Place and use a laptop on site. During your scheduled time, you can:
- Search, prepare for, and apply to jobs
- Manage your healthcare, including scheduling appointments and attending virtual visits
- Build new skills through free online courses like Microsoft Office, information technology, digital literacy, and more
Participants can develop new skills by utilizing Metrix Learning’s SkillUp program, which offers individuals flexible, self-paced online training designed to build job-ready skills and support diverse career pathways. Offering access to more than 6,000 courses across various fields, including business, IT, and healthcare, the platform includes youth career-readiness training and industry-specific learning plans. Through customizable training and comprehensive skill-development tools, SkillUp helps learners strengthen their capabilities and prepare for long-term career success.
This opportunity supports individuals who may not have reliable internet or computer access at home, and all services are provided at no cost.
Why Access Matters
“At Jeremiah’s Place, we’re committed to reducing barriers for families,” said Tammy Aupperle, Executive Director. “Participating in this program allows us to provide essential digital access that supports stability, connection, and long-term success.”
Program Funding
Our participation is made possible through funding under the Digital Connectivity Technology Program, which is a Capital Projects Fund Program, under the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority, made possible by funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021.
