Frequently Asked Questions: Jeremiah’s Place Expansion

We’ve got some very exciting news to share regarding our future location! Jeremiah’s Place is moving its headquarters to Wilkinsburg in 2026 to support the growing needs of our community!

What does expansion mean for Jeremiah’s Place families and children?

Our new facility in Wilkinsburg will have more than double the programming square footage of our current space in Larimer. This will give JP the ability to serve more families in need – some of whom are currently on a waiting list – as well as expand our program and partnership offerings. With this expansion, we are also proud to have the opportunity to create additional jobs within the region.

Will Jeremiah’s Place expand services and programs?

With this move, we will not only expand the services that we provide to our current families, but will now have the ability to create new experiences for children, such as sensory spaces, indoor and outdoor play areas, as well as additional programming and resources for parents, grandparents, and caregivers.

Why Wilkinsburg?

We are committed to deepening our roots within the East End community. While the Kingsley Association has been a wonderful home for JP for the past 11 years, we have outgrown our space. Our new and larger facility in Wilkinsburg will enable us to serve more families and remain easily accessible. The facility is positioned on major bus routes of Pittsburgh's Regional Transit System.

We often refer to JP and our family as a ‘village’, and we feel that Wilkinsburg is very much a neighborhood with safe sidewalks, trees, and a diversity of residents. Another benefit of this particular space is an ample-sized parking lot – which will provide visitors and caregivers peace-of-mind when safely picking up or dropping off their children.

When will Jeremiah’s Place move?

Jeremiah’s Place will remain open and active at our current location inside of the Kingsley Association while renovations to our new center take place. We anticipate moving our operations to Wilkinsburg in 2026.

Will any of Jeremiah’s Place’s services change?

Everything we do at our core is mission and vision-driven. All of our core programs will continue and expand. We are committed to providing our services free of charge to our families.
